Dead Silence - Diving Back In box set
Boulder, Colorado is not known to be a thriving punk rock metropolis, unlike its sister city, San Francisco. One would like to think that Eric Boucher (Jello Biafra), and Leslie Mah (Anti-Scrunti Faction and Tribe 8), moving to SF from the people’s republic of Boulder was mere coincidence and had little to do with them wearing flowers in their hair (if you don’t get that joke, YouTube Scott McKenzie). Anyway, I digress. Dead Silence put Boulder on the map through the 80s and into the early 90s, with their outspoken, unrelenting, in your face punk music, which is infinitely more uncompromising than Anti-Flag could have ever dreamed of being. This box set sees four of their last five EPs, Hope, Hell, How Could We Make Any More Money Than This?, Two Dogs, and A Benefit, brought back into print, sans four tracks, plus six unreleased tracks and two live tracks. Putting this box set together was a work of passion, and came with the full support of the band behind it. Rabbit Rabbit Records/Press worked tirelessly on this, and it is limited to 500 sets pressed, with no plans for a second pressing, so when they're gone...well, you know what that means.
